Where We Are From
File:Tyngsborough.jpg
Tyngsboro, Massachusetts is a small historic town 44 miles outside of Boston. Although Tyngsboro is only 17.86 square miles, its population is currently 11,673 people. Tyngsboro borders the towns of Dunstable, Groton, Westford, Chelmsford, Dracut, the City of Lowell, as well as the State of New Hampshire communities of Hudson, Pelham, and the City of Nashua. We are a commuter town to our Capital, Boston, and the city of Nashua, New Hampshire. Tyngsboro was origonally purchased from native indians and was formally established as a town on February 23, 1809. Tyngsboro is best known today for its 547 foot long, green painted single-arched iron bridge over the Merrimack River. The bridge was built in 1931, making it the second oldest of 5 identified steel rib through arch bridges in the MassHighway database, and one of only 13 known steel rib arch bridges of any configuration in the database. .
